Before baby I was having a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit but in the last day or so it’s started to feel a little bit more like Christmas time. We’ve wrapped the mounds of incoming gifts and done all the baking and are having time to just relax and enjoy one another. The picture of the kids dressed up is the one that I take every year the Sabbath before the holiday where I make them dress up. If I had my druthers I’d have them both matching and I may well get to do it atleast one year before Victoria grows out of the little girl type dresses for the smaller two but Chullain isn’t having any of that. So, I choose my battles wisely and try to remember to grateful that he willingly will put on dress clothes in the first place. The other photo shows how the kids spent part of their morning today. They put together some Christmas crafts and had a really good time doing it. Things like that signify some of my favorite parts of the season. Tradition and time with family I love. Victoria told Chullain that something he was making wasn’t for Christmas because stars aren’t for Christmas. He patiently explained that there was a new star when Jesus was born and the Shepard’s and wise men saw it so yes stars were indeed for Christmas. It’s good to know some of the things that we’ve been teaching him stick.
Ohh, on a side note: something significant happened here in Kuwait yesterday. It rained. I mean really rained like all day so there were puddles on the streets and you wanted to curl up on the couch and watch a movie rained. I was talking with Bo about it and I think that it’s been about 8 months since it really rained here last. Granted it’s not the great cleansing rain that making everything smell fabulous that I remember from the states but rain is rain. Besides the having to walk the dog out in it part of life I like it. (ok, ok you caught me. Yes, Bo is the one that walks the dog and I don’t have to suffer a thing except listening to his dissatisfaction with the state of the weather :0)
